We are a self-pay practice and are not credentialed with any vision or medical insurance.

Our mission is to support patients in need of medically necessary contact lenses or custom contact lenses. Each unique situation requires a personalized solution that insurance often does not cover. Operating as a self-pay practice gives us the flexibility to devote extra time and effort toward that end while providing a high caliber of care. We can also be very transparent about how much your care will cost. Please be aware that we do not perform routine eye exams or prescribe commercially available soft contact lenses for the routine patient.

We accept cash, credit/debit cards, certified checks, as well as flex-spending cards such as FSAs and HSAs.

If you have insurance, you may still be able to use your out-of-network benefits. We will ask that you pay for your exam up front and self-submit for reimbursement from your insurance provider. We can provide you with an itemized receipt that includes diagnosis and procedure codes to aid in that process.

Scleral Lenses

  • Best for those with keratoconus, corneal transplant(s), higher-order aberrations, corneal scarring, post-LASIK, post-RK, severe dry eye, and other cornea conditions.

    Pricing: $100.

Includes: Consultation, vision assessment, all measurements necessary for a scleral lens exam and fitting. Comfort testing for dry eye patient is included.

The consultation fee will be applied toward the cost of your fitting, should you choose to proceed. There is no obligation to proceed with a fitting after this visit.

  • Standard scleral lenses are fit using a pre-manufactured fitting set and trial & error. This is an art as much as it is a science!

These lenses are suitable for regular corneas, mild dry eye, mildly irregular corneas and relatively symmetrical corneas and scleras. May take several office visits to get the final lens(es).

    Pricing: $2250 flat fee.

Includes: Lenses for two eyes, initial exam/consultation & all follow ups during the fitting period (90 days), insertion/removal training(s), supplies review, all scans/imaging and remake lenses (if applicable) during the fitting period.

Spare Pair Discount: Spare lenses are duplicates of finalized lenses. Cost would be discussed at the end of the fitting process on a case-by-case basis due to the custom nature of these lenses. Spare lenses do not come with a fitting warranty (ie, they are sold as is and cannot be adjusted by Dr. Seif) and are typically discounted. Spare lenses do not come with any follow ups or checks, they are purely a material purchase.

Custom and Ultra Custom Scleral Lenses

  • For those aiming for the best vision correction possible. Must already have properly-fitted scleral lens(es).

Some scleral lens users experience residual HOAs (such as glare, starburst, halos, visual fog, residual astigmatism and “soft” vision) after an otherwise successful fitting. With OVITZ technology, we are able to significantly reduce or eliminate this visual noise. The process involves using an aberrometer to create a wavefront map that identifies the location and degree of the residual aberrations. This information is used by OVITZ to design custom HOA-correcting optics that can then be added to scleral lenses.

    Pricing:

    Higher Order Aberration Consultation: $200.

HOA Scleral Lens Fitting: Pricing will be determined after consultation. OVITZ HOA optics are an add on feature, so cost will vary based on the type of scleral lenses used (ie, Standard, Custom or Ultra Custom).

  • Best for those with a large degree of cornea irregularity, asymmetric or severe keratoconus, surgical irregularities or other complicated issues that can make fittings difficult. Reduces chair time due to lens being designed using scans rather than trial and error.

Using a profilometer, we can design “higher resolution” scleral lenses that match the unique topography of your eye more closely.

Pricing (New Wearer): $3150 flat fee.

Includes: Lenses for two eyes, initial exam/consultation & all follow ups during the fitting period (90 days), insertion/removal training(s), supplies review, all scans/imaging and remake lenses (if applicable) during the fitting period.

  • Best for those with highly irregular scleras, large pingueculas, glaucoma surgeries, post-surgical abnormalities or those who have “failed” with other types of scleral lenses due to discomfort. Suitable for those who have double vision that need prism correction.

A physical mold is taken of the cornea and scleral for the “highest resolution”, most custom scleral lens possible. Taking the impression takes a few minutes, and the resulting lens is more likely to fit optimally on the first attempt.

Pricing (New Wearer): Coming February 2026.

Includes: Lenses for two eyes, impression-molding, initial exam/consultation & all follow ups during the fitting period (90 days), insertion/removal training(s), supplies review, all scans/imaging and remake lenses (if applicable) during the fitting period.

Other Specialty or Medical Contact Lenses

  • If you are unsure what type of contact lens modality is right for you, start here. This category covers every other type of specialty contact lens – ie, gas-permeable (hard), prosthetics, tinted/occluding and hybrid contact lenses.

    Pricing: $300.

Includes: Consultation, vision assessment, all measurements necessary for specialty lens exam and fitting.

The consultation fee will be applied toward the cost of your fitting, should you choose to proceed. There is no obligation to proceed with a fitting after this visit.

  • For infants under 12 months of age. Must be referred by pediatric ophthalmologist.

    Pricing: $1,500 flat fee.

Includes: Lenses for two eyes, initial exam/consultation, follow ups as needed for up to 12 months, insertion/removal training(s) for parents, supplies review, all scans/imaging and remake lenses (if applicable) during the fitting period.

Can start with a Non-Scleral Lens Consultation without any obligation to proceed with a fitting.

  • Hybrid lenses combine two types of materials into one unique lens. The center is made of a rigid material to provide clear, stable vision while the rest of the lens is soft in order to keep the lenses comfortable throughout the day. Great for those who have astigmatism, play sports, or have demanding visual needs.

Pricing: Varies depending on corneal shape, optics (ie, multifocal), and whether you are an established or new wearer. Pricing will be determined after a consultation.

  • For migraines, iris trauma, congenital anomalies, eye trauma, double vision, cosmetic needs or those suffering from light sensitivity.

Pricing: To be determined after a Non-Scleral Lens consultation.

Includes: Lenses, initial exam/consultation & all follow ups during the fitting period (varies depending on lens modality), color matching, insertion/removal training (if needed).
